Lillian Clayton's Obituary
Lillian Marie Tonetta Fredrickson Clayton was born on October 17, 1925 to Fred and Clara Fredrickson in Ismay, Montana. She passed away on Monday, December 11, 2017 at her home in Dallas, Texas, at the age of 92.During WWII, she served as a Cadet Nurse for 2 years until the end of the war, during which she received her education as an RN and graduated from Grand Forks Deaconess Hospital in December 1945. During the war, she met her future husband and on September 6, 1946, she married William H. Clayton in Dallas, Texas.Lill was part of the original nursing staff when Presbyterian Hospital opened in 1966 and worked as an RN on the ophthalmology floor for 14 years.She was a faithful member and Sunday School Teacher of Lake Highlands United Methodist Church since it began in 1955 and continued to lend her support to the church until she died.Lill was an active resident of The Forum at Park Lane for 18 years and was instrumental in organizing many activities and raising funds for the library. She was affectionately known as the “puzzle lady”.Lill is survived by her daughter, Debbie Tutt (Richard Hudson) of Garland Texas; son, Jim Clayton of Butner, NC; daughter-in-law, Karen Young (Mark) of McKinney, Texas; grandson, Brian Tutt (Angela) of Frisco, Texas; granddaughters Kristen Tutt (Brenda Barrio) of Pullman, Washington, Denise Price (Wes) of Allen, Texas, Jennifer Moore (Aaron) of Jacksonville, Florida; 8 great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. She is preceded in death by her husband, William H. Clayton, and her son William H. Clayton, Jr.There will be a memorial service on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 beginning at 10:00AM, in The Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lake Highlands United Methodist Church.
