Marie Farrington's Obituary
Lillie Marie “Ree” Farrington, 101 years young, of Richardson, Texas passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 21, 2023, with family by her side.
Marie was born on October 23, 1921, in Shelbyville, Texas to Acuff and Theo Fowler. She is preceded in death by her parents, her two sisters, and by her loving husband of 56 years, Lamar C. Farrington.
Marie was a very special lady. She enjoyed life and her many friends to the fullest! Marie was a genuinely social person without ever using social media.
She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, mother-in-law, sister and friend. Her youthful spirit spanned ten decades. How does that happen? She believed she stumbled across the longevity-boosting vitamins in a daily Scotch.
Marie might have been small but was a dynamic lady. She always dressed in colorful and festive attire that fit the theme of the event she was attending. She and Lamar spent many evenings enjoying elaborate dinners, dancing the night away, and partying with their many friends. She claims to have created the phrase “I’ll take a roadie.”
Marie was a very proud Texan and loved the Yellow Rose of Texas. Some of Marie’s favorite things included a remarkable array of collectable frogs, an extensive Waterford collection and an impressive assortment of classic movie memorabilia. She enjoyed spending quality time with her family, gardening, watching sports, traveling the world, playing bridge, decorating her home for every holiday and hosting HAPPY HOUR!
Marie is survived by her twin daughters Penny Brann and husband Richard of Houston, Texas. Linda Estes and husband James of Sisterdale, Texas. Grandchildren, Brent Estes and wife Terry, Wesley Brann, Paige Murphree and husband Jason, and Patrick Brann and wife Jennifer. Great-grandchildren Lexi, Emily, Ryan, Bethany, Macy, Colby and Parker. Along with many nieces and nephews.
Marie spent her final years at the Villages of Windcrest, Fredericksburg, Texas, where in 2021 she proudly became the first member of “The Century Club.” The family would like to thank all the staff at The Villages of Windcrest and Embrace Hospice for their wonderful care.
She will join her beloved soulmate Lamar, at their final resting place, “the condo” at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas, Texas. The immediate family will celebrate her remarkable life in May.
