Lillie "Bill" S. Watson's Obituary
Lillie “Bill” S. Watson of Arlington, Texas passed away peacefully at home on Friday, September 22, 2017. Born to Thester & Myrtle Shearin on December 18, 1922 in Van Alstyne, Texas, she moved to the Rio Grande Valley, Raymondville, Texas where she graduated high school. Bill, then, attended Texas State College for Women in Denton, Texas. While living in Dallas she worked for Petroleum Engineer magazine. From a very young age, Bill, had a yearning to travel and see the world. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi while living in California and working for Atlantic Richfield Oil Company. She also worked for The International Trade mart in New Orleans and traveled to the West Indies and Barbados. She then decided to serve her country proudly in Japan, and joined the Foreign Service. She was passionate and knowledgeable about many things, including, plants, gardening and music. She married J. C. Watson of Watson Bros. Department Stores on October 16, 1955. Together they had a wonderful daughter, Lorell W. Emms. Bill enjoyed time spent vacationing with her daughter, son in law, Tom Emms and their family. She dearly loved her grandchildren, Nathan Emms, Tristan Emms & Devanie Galyen, and great grand children, Ayden & Brinley Emms. She was a wonderfully kind hearted woman who never met a stranger in her life and will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her. Bill S. Watson is preceded in death by her parents, Thester & Myrtle Shearin, her sister, Olga Colip and her husband, J.C. Watson. The funeral service will be held at 12:30 pm, Wednesday, September 27, 2017, at the Restland Wildwood Chapel.
