Lillie Bell Thomas' Obituary
Lillie Bell Thomas, lovingly referred to as “Momma”, “Granny” and “Weesie” was born on October 12, 1925 in Kaufman County, Texas to parents, Oscar and Cornelius Williams. She accepted Christ at an early age. She was a long-time and faithful member of Mt. Horeb Missionary Baptist Church for over 75 years. She was a passionate usher and member.
Lillie married Clinton Thomas, Sr. and was married 52 years until his death in 1999. Two children were born to this union. They were original homeowners in the community of Hamilton Park.
She was an under presser at factories until she stopped working to do her true calling, a caretaker for her family members. She cared unconditionally for her dad, her sister and became the sitter for her Great Grandchildren.
Lillie was the oldest of her siblings. She shared her knowledge, wisdom, cooking, time and sarcasm with her family.
She was the family matriarch, and her heart and doors were always open! The holiday Christmas tradition was at her home each and every year. Everyone looked forward to her turkey, dressing, pies and fruit salad.
Her prayers kept everyone safe from harm and danger. She will be truly missed as she lived a life of true faithfulness and belief in God.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one brother, five sisters and two great grandchildren.
She leaves to cherish her memories her son, Clinton Thomas, Jr. (Jessie) and Bobbie Jean Keller; grandchildren, Vakita Mitchell (Mark), Tony Keller (Angela), Kelly Thomas, and Gaye Keller; great grandchildren, Terika, Byren, Alyah, Tamara, and Aysia; great great granddaughter, Arielle; sister, Dorothy Mosby; brother, Johnny Williams (Versie); a host of nieces, nephews, and church friends.
