Linda Louise Cathey's Obituary
Linda Cathey, a resident of Highland Springs in North Dallas, passed away on November 11, 2016. Linda was born in Athens, Georgia, on June 25, 1942. She was preceded in death by her parents, Douglas and Ouida Cooper, and sister, Diane Cooper Dennis. Immediate family survivors are her loving husband, Conley; son Chris Gailey of Austin, TX; and daughters, Audrey Skeen and husband, Mike, of Knoxville, TN, Connie McDuffie and husband, Dan, of Baldwin, GA; and brother Mike Cooper and wife, Jordan, of Murrayville, GA. She was very proud of her grandchildren, Matthew and Tiffany Gailey, Jamie Cybert, Jeb Herrin, Daniel and Dakoda McDuffie, and great-grandchildren, Zarine Cybert and Ephram Herrin. Linda was an active member of The Heights Baptist Church for nearly forty years; she taught and worked in the Children’s Department for most of those years. Linda was associated with the independent telecommunications industry and retired after more than 40 years. She was an integral part in the founding of Cathey, Hutton & Associates. Linda was an avid fan and season-ticket holder of the Dallas Stars and Dallas Cowboys for many years. Over the years she enjoyed taking children from Ronald McDonald House and Happy Hill Farm to games. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at Restland Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 PM, Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at The Heights Baptist Church, 201 W. Renner Road, in Richardson, Texas, In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in Memory of Linda Cathey to the Ronald McDonald House, 4707 Bengal Street, Dallas, TX, 75235; or Happy Hill Farm, 3846 North Highway 144, Granbury, TX, 76048. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243.
