Linda Kay Crites' Obituary
Crites, Linda Ashby of Granbury, TX, formerly of Dallas, passed away December 6, 2019. Linda was preceded in death by her husband H.L Crites Jr. and is survived by her daughter Debbie of San Marcos, CA, son David and his wife Stacy of Deer Park, TX, their children Ryan Smith, Robert Smith and his wife Caydence along with their children Chandler and GraceLynn, brother-in-law Stan Crites of Claremore, OK, brother Ronnie Ashby and his wife Nancy of Dallas and neice The Honorable Anne Ashby, Ret of Dallas.Linda was born April 24, 1940 in Dallas TX to Bonnie and Joe Ashby. Following graduation from The Hockaday School in 1957, she attended The University of Oklahoma where she was a member of the Tri Delt Sorority. While at OU, she met and married H.L. August 26, 1060. They lived in Dallas until 1994 at which time they relocated to Pecan Plantation in Granbury, TX. In Dallas, she was active in her community having been a member of The Dallas Big Sisters, The Dallas Society for Crippled Children, The Junior Symphony League and The Dallas Junior League. She was a past President of The Hockaday Alumnae Association and served on The Hockaday Board of Trustees. She is a former staff member of Park Cities Baptist Church where she served as the assistant to the Youth Minister. In Granbury, she was active in numerous bridge groups, social clubs, Bible studies and Lakeside Baptist Church.A service to celebrate Linda will be held Thursday, December 12, 2019 at 3:30 pm at Lakeside Baptist Church in Granbury, TX. Reverand Mark Forrest will offciate. Private burial will precede the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to any of the above mentioned organizations or the American Heart Association.Funeral Services and arrangements for Linda Kay Crites have been faithfully entrusted to Restland Funeral Home, Cemetery and Crematory located at 13005 Greenville Ave. Dallas, TX 75243.
