Linda and I became friends thru the Charlie Taylor's Sunday School class, and the North Texas Multiple Myeloma support group. I will miss her. I thank God for her life and how she gracefully this disease. My prayers are with Linda's family.
I will carry wonderful memories of Linda with me for the rest of my life. She will always be part of me. She was a great bridge partner, especially when we shared a bottle or box of wine!
Dear Phil, Jordan, Natalie, Merle Avery and Brennan, I know we have not seen you as much lately as we wanted, but Linda was a part of our life since we met in Lubbock all those years ago. It is hard to put into words how grief-stricken I am. I always looked forward to Linda's laughter and her love of "jazz" that created many wonderful memories through the years. She had a joyful sense of adventure which always led to an unforgettable time. I was blessed to know Linda through my childhood and grew to admire her for her strength and generosity. Linda was a role model for me in her beauty, style, and kindness. I recall one story of my childhood in which Linda displayed her loving and supportive nature. Linda loved movie-going and took me to see "E.T." In the saddest part of the movie, I could not stop crying. Linda took my hand and told me not to be sad… that everything would be okay because she knew it would be. And she was right- everything was okay. Thank you Linda for the time I was able to spend with you and to know you. Your love and laughter will continue to be in my own heart and mind through my life. Phil, Jordan, Natalie, Avery, and Brendon, I am so saddened for your loss of an amazing wife, mother, and grandmother. Dear Phil, Jordan, Natalie and family: Vicki and I will miss our friend Linda, who we have known since 1971, before Jordan was born. We have been friends through all the ups and downs of the last 39 years. We have shared births, deaths,children, grandchildren, pets(Rosey, Blackjack, George, Alice Kristi, Mattie), great bridge times, dancing, many dinners,travel trips, smiles, and laughs. Linda, you were a great wife, mother daughter, friend, teacher. I remember Linda's vibrant smile at our meetings. I wish I had known of your Abilene connection to talk with her about it. Our first home was adjacent to HSU campus and my first job was at an Abilene middle school. Wish we had had more time with Linda. Glad she is present with the Lord.
