Linda Hickman Freeman's Obituary
Linda Hickman Freeman, 84, was born on April 30, 1941, to Weslie Dunlap Hickman and Margare Smith Hickman, in Waxahachie, TX. She was a graduate of Waxahachie High School. Linda worked hard her whole life. For most of her professional career, she was an Executive Assistant at Ford, Bacon & Davis Inc. which built oil refinery plants around the world. She also spent time as the church secretary for Temple Baptist Church in Garland, TX. She served as a children’s Sunday School teacher, sang in the choir, participated in the bus ministry and was a visitation leader as well as multiple other servant roles within the church; you would surely find her busy there. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Garland, TX
She wore many hats… daughter, sister, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother, friend. Not to mention the creator of the infamous, unfortunately named, “Pookie Salad” which became a must have at all family gatherings! Requested, nay demanded, by all immediate and extended family.
She was lighthearted and had a wonderful sense of humor. She loved her family fiercely! She had a servant's heart, placing all others before herself to which she demonstrated her entire life.
Linda was preceded in death by her afore mentioned parents, husband, Ronald Freeman, 2 brothers, 2 sisters, and her only grandson Ryan Lynn Freeman.
She is survived by her son, Ron Freeman and wife Sherry of Rowlett, TX, granddaughters, Robyn Kuenzi and husband Tony of McKinney, TX, Rebecca Sliger and husband Stephen of Sachse, TX, and great grandchildren, Abageal, Jacksyn, Claire, William, Savannah, and Harley, numerous nieces and nephews, ALL of whom were the joy of her heart.
