Linda Ruth Lohre's Obituary
Born to Woodrow C. and Ophia R. Darnell on July 17, 1932 in DeKalb Texas. Linda departed this world after a fulfilling life on February 20, 2021 at the age of 88. She is proceeded by her husband of 61 years James F. Lohre, daughter Mary Butler, her parents, her brothers, Owen L Darnell, Jerry Bradley, Douglas Don Darnell, Gary Mayo Bradley and brother-in-law Don Elliott. Linda is survived by her sister, Mary H. Elliott, son and wife Robert and Gail Lohre, daughter and husband Cathy and Dean Ueckert, daughter Sister Patricia Marie Lohre IWBS, 2 grandsons, James Castro and Raquel Bendana, Joe Ueckert and wife, Megan Ueckert, 2 granddaughters, Bethany Wooster and Jennifer Azmoudeh, great granddaughters, Cherish, Sarah, Haley, Sophie, Grace and great grandson Lane. with many more nieces and nephews. Linda proudly supported her husband Jim as he served 23 years in the Army. Afterwards Linda, Jim and the family moved to Garland Texas to settle into the civilian life. Linda was actively involved in her church St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church as a member of the Bereavement group, supplying many comforting cakes to those who mourned. Linda enjoyed square dancing with the K-Bar-C Square Dance Club and served as an officer. Linda and Jim loved camping and spending time with their many friends in the Good Sam’s Camping Club. She was an avid reader, a great cook and always willing to help someone in need.
The family would like to recognize and share their appreciation for the many friends and heartfelt care Linda received through the many care partners at Rambling Oaks Assisted Living and Inspired Living of Lewisville Memory Care over the last six years.
Visitation will be at Restland Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m. on March 10, 2021. Memorial services led by Father Joseh Vollmer-König at 2: 30 p.m., immediately followed by Graveside services. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the charity of your choice.
