Linda Brightwell Maxcy's Obituary
MAXCY, LINDA BRIGHTWELL was born in Fort Worth, Texas on May 26th, 1939 to George A Brightwell and Valda Swink Brightwell. Linda died peacefully on January 27, 2013 at Presbyterian Village North, in Dallas, Texas after a brave struggle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents and her older sister, Pat B Whitson of Laguna Hills California. She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Michelle Maxcy of Dallas; and her brother, George A Brightwell, Jr. and his wife, Barbara Hinson Brightwell of Georgetown, Texas. Linda graduated from R. L. Paschal High School in Fort Worth and attended Texas Wesleyan University. She was a devoted single parent with a long career that included many of her passions. She loved her time working in the film industry and as Administrative Assistant to Pastors in several large Dallas Methodist Churches. She retired as an Executive Assistant with Price Waterhouse Coopers in Dallas. AIthough her circle of friends and family were small and intimate, her influence was deep, rippling like a pebble on still waters. For those who were lucky enough to come into her quiet presence many were forever changed. For a moment they walked a little slower, felt a little deeper, and smiled a little bigger. Their hearts were softened and more reflective as they returned to their normal pace. She saw beauty and meaning in everything around her. She cherished her loving daughter, her devoted brother, her friends, and of course her many loyal furry companions. Above all, she loved her Almighty Lord and Savior with all her heart and soul. She was the “wind beneath our wings”. She will be greatly missed. We rejoice in the promise that all who trust in Him will be reunited in Heaven for eternity. In lieu of flowers, her family requests memorial donations to be contributed to The American Cancer Society at cancer.org.
