Linda Karen Selling, a beloved wife, mother, teacher, and friend, transitioned peacefully on April 14, 2025. Born on July 15, 1948, Linda's life was a tapestry of love, dedication, and unwavering spirit.
Linda graduated from Lufkin High School and pursued higher education at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, TX. Her journey then led her to Dallas, where she attended El Centro College. Linda married Michael Snider, and together they welcomed their son, Jeffery Michael. Though their marriage ended, Linda's love for her son remained a cornerstone of her life.
Her professional journey was as diverse as it was impactful. Linda began as a paraprofessional in Mesquite ISD and briefly explored a career in real estate. However, her true calling was in education. She earned her degree in primary education from Texas A&M Commerce and later received a special education certificate. In 1993, Linda met Daniel Selling at Eastridge Park Church in Mesquite, TX. Their friendship blossomed into a deep and abiding love, and they married on February 22, 2003, on her brother's front porch in Lufkin, TX. Daniel's unwavering care and devotion were a testament to their profound bond.
Linda was known for her vibrant personality, sharp intellect, and quick wit. She never met a stranger and was always ready with a kind word or a helping hand. Her involvement in her church choir and her love for sewing were just a few of the many ways she enriched the lives of those around her.
Linda's legacy is one of love, resilience, and an unyielding zest for life. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
