Lisa Kay Brown's Obituary
Lisa Kay Brown (YIM, Pang Cha), age 81, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2025, surrounded by love. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and cherished friend. Lisa was known for her warm heart, generous spirit, and a life lived with purpose and resilience.
Lisa was born on January 25, 1944, in Seoul, Korea. She was the beloved daughter of YIM, Kyu Chol and CHO, Un Myong. She grew up in Seoul alongside her four sisters and one brother, shaped by strong family ties and a deep yearning for a better life. With that dream, she met and married a U.S. Army soldier and began a new chapter in America.
In 1964, Lisa married the love of her life, Dana Keith Brown. Together, they built a life rooted in love, strength, and family, raising two children, Debbie Kay Eckert and Michael Lee Brown. Lisa was a devoted and nurturing mother and grandmother, always placing the needs and happiness of her family above her own.
Lisa was also a proud and passionate entrepreneur. Over the years, she poured her heart and soul into several businesses, including Foul Play Sports Bar in Carrollton, TX, Busan Korean and Chinese in Dallas, TX, and Song Do Sushi and Sashimi, also in Dallas. Her vibrant personality and dedication made these establishments more than just businesses—they became gathering places full of laughter, food, and friendship.
Outside of her work, Lisa found joy in the simple pleasures of life: eating delicious meals, shopping, and spending precious time with family and friends. Her laughter was contagious, her kindness unwavering, and her compassion touched all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Lisa was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, and her beloved husband, Dana. She leaves behind a legacy of love and strength in her surviving family: her cherished friend, sister, aunt, brother, her daughter Debbie and husband Ted Eckert, her son Michael, and her cherished grandchildren Kelsi, Ashton, and Raynie.
A visitation and funeral service honoring Lisa’s life will be held at Wildwood Chapel in Restland Memorial Park on Wednesday, August 6th, 2025, at 9:30 am.
Her family invites all who loved her to join in celebrating a remarkable life—a life that reminded us to always cherish the little things.
