Lloyd Elmer Jordan Jr.'s Obituary
With heavy hearts, but rejoicing spirits, we announce the peaceful passing of Lloyd Elmer Jordan Jr. on November 4th, 2024, at the age of 91. Born on October 1st, 1933, to Lloyd Elmer Jordan Sr. and Oma Lehman Cunningham Jordan, Lloyd lived a life full of love, dedication, and devotion.
Lloyd shared 71 beautiful years with his cherished wife, Mary Lou Richards Jordan. Their love story is a shining example of unwavering commitment and deep affection. Together, they built a life rich in memories, laughter, joy, and service to the Lord. A man of deep faith, Lloyd’s spiritual journey was a guiding light throughout his life. His devotion to his wife and his faith were the pillars of his existence, providing him with strength and purpose.
Lloyd also deeply loved his children: John Jordan (Jana), Joanna Genuardi, Kenneth Jordan (Joy), and Richard Jordan (Gen), who Lloyd now joins in Heaven. His seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren brought immense happiness to his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them. Lloyd is also survived by his younger sister, Sherry Cherry.
He proudly served in the United States Air Force for 10 years, and it was here that he found his passion for electronics, which led to a lifelong career as an electrical engineer. Lloyd graduated from Texas College of Arts and Industries in Kingsville, TX where he was a member of the Sigma Tau Fraternity, Alpha Eta Chapter. He held a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and went on to work for DuPont de Nemours Incorporated for 28 years. While at DuPont, he implemented processes that are still in place today and he was recognized for creating programs that saved the company money and made the processes more efficient.
Lloyd not only used his skills at work but also in his off time. He was always up for solving a problem or helping with a project when needed. He loved the outdoors and spent as much time as possible on the lake skiing or sailing.
Lloyd’s legacy is one of kindness, generosity, and an unwavering spirit. He touched the lives of many with his gentle nature and compassionate heart. His presence brought comfort and strength to those around him, and his memory will continue to inspire and uplift us.
As we honor Lloyd’s memory, we celebrate a life well-lived, and a man deeply loved. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit will forever remain in our hearts. A Celebration of Life for Lloyd will be held in the chapel at First Presbyterian Church of Dallas on November 12th, 2024 at 10am. A public visitation will be held 30 minutes prior at 9:30. Lloyd will be laid to rest in Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery on Wednesday November 13th at 10am.
