Lloyd Nelson White, 77, of Grand Prairie Texas, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, Friday, December 13, 2019 in Waxahachie Texas.Lloyd was born December 8, 1942 in Dallas Texas to “FL” & Exma White. Lloyd was a self-made man & master of his trades. Owner, operator & manager of White Crane & Rigging, Lloyd paved the way in the crane industry. Renowned for his knowledge & talents throughout his field, Lloyd set the bar for generations of operators to come. Machinist, heavy equipment operator, trouble shooter & expert crisis manager, are just a few titles that describe Lloyd. With determination & perseverance, Lloyd succeed at all he set his mind too. Most notably, during his time with Austin Commercial as the Structural Steel Supervisor, Lloyd was responsible for the overseeing and hanging of the obelisks at the Anatole Dallas, in the early 1980’s. Additionally, Lloyd was in charge of the disassembly of cranes after the completion of the Galleria Dallas. As a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local Chapter 178, Lloyd was a significant figure in his industry for almost 60 years. When Lloyd wasn’t working, he enjoyed spending time with family & friends, dancing, riding his Harley and stock car racing.The oldest of 5 children, Lloyd is preceded in death by his brothers, Kerry Lee, John & Donald White. Lloyd is survived by his daughter Michele Crittenden & husband Bobby, of Waxahachie; son Mark L. White & wife Amy, of Cabot Arkansas; son Jason L. White & wife Lindsay, of Waxahachie. Lloyd cherished his 6 grandchildren, Amanda Ward of Napier, New Zealand, Steven Crittenden of Waxahachie, Kirby Pierce of Red Oak, Joshua & Jacob White of Gun Barrel City and Hayden C. White of Waxahachie; along with 8 beautiful great grandchildren. Lloyd will be greatly missed by his sister Joy D. Roberts & husband, Cotton, of Decatur, Texas, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Services for Lloyd will be held at Restland Funeral Home, Tuesday, December 17, 2019. Visitation at 11:30 am and funeral services at 12:30 p.m. Restland Funeral Home and Cemetery, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
