LM Crocker's Obituary
LM Crocker was born December 20, 1926 in Grand Saline, Texas, and passed away September 24, 2016 in Winnsboro, Texas. LM was born in and attended school in Grand Saline, TX. He entered the Navy in 1944. He trained in Great Lakes, IL, Davisville, RI and Camp Parks, CA. He served in the Pacific and Okinawa during WWII. He married Annie Lucille Wilson on May 19, 1947 and welcomed three children, six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He joined the Dallas Fire Department in March of 1949. He spent 28 years serving his community as a Firefighter and Captain; he retired in March of 1977. He was a Master Mason and Shriner of the 32nd degree as part of the Grand Lodge of Texas. LM was a devout Christian. He was an active member of Pleasant Mound United Methodist Church in Dallas for over 30 years. In retirement, LM and Annie were avid travelers who toured most of the country in their RV, taking their grandchildren on many adventures. LM dabbled in real estate, enjoyed round dancing, and loved his family. Preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Willis Irvine Crocker and Mrs. Bertie Ann Pierce Crocker; his brother, JD Crocker; his three children, Cynthia Ann Crocker Young, Ronald Gene Crocker, and William Terry Crocker. LM is survived by his wife of 69 years, Annie Crocker; two brothers, Garland Crocker and Bill Crocker; his daughter-in-law, Nelda Crocker, son-in-law, Hank Young; six grandchildren, Melody Carrillo, Halie Crocker Werge, Andrew Crocker, Jessie Harsh, Zach Young, and Jay Crocker; and his nine great-grandchildren, Isabel Carrillo, Gabe Carrillo, Gavyn Young, Madyson Young, Landyn Young, Jason Harsh, Justin Harsh, Jacob Harsh, and Miles Werge. Graveside service for LM Crocker will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, September 30, 2016 at Restland Memorial Park. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Dallas Firefighters Museum.
