Lois Ann Alcantar's Obituary
Lois Ann Dunlap Alcantar, 71, of Garland, TX. entered into the endless joy of Jesus’ Kingdom on Monday, April 22, 2024, in Dallas, TX. She was born June 17, 1952, to Clyde and Irene Dunlap in Grove City, Pennsylvania.
Dedicated to improving quality of life, Lois served as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant for over two decades. Caring for patients at Rowlett Nursing Center and Doctor’s Hospital. Her servant’s heart landed her gladly in the role as an officer of Lakeside Baptist Church for over ten years. Lois loved her grandchildren more than life itself, as well as her constant companion, Riley (her Shiatzu).
Apologizing neither for her beloved savior nor her country, her legacy of godliness, patriotism and just being the sweetest Mom, Grandma, GG, wife, and friend will always be cherished!
With her contagious smile and super-positive mindset, her love of laughter often continued throughout the conversation “Laugh-talking”. Everything she was, even right down to her fun socks was a celebration of life!
She is survived by her children, James C. Moore, wife Michele, Karri Ann Moore Pons, husband Jason, Steven Fowler, wife Karissa, Children by marriage: Dewayne, Jeremy, and Anthony Alcantar, Grandchildren - Juliya Moore Whitley, husband Charles, Nathaniel Moore, wife Carlene, Jacob, Zachary, Jaxson, and Colson Moore, Lauren Pons, Nicholas Fowler, and Samuel Fowler, Great grandchildren - Charlie and Eric Whitley, Brother, Bobby Dunlap and companion, Adam Espinosa.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Gilbert Alcantar, brother, Clyde Dunlap, Jr. and grandson, Johnathon Shiplett.
A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2024. Visitation at 9:00 am with the service to follow at 10:00 am, both held in Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243.
The family would like to thank the caregivers at Methodist Hospital, VITAS Healthcare Inpatient Hospice, and Dr Jessamy Boyd for the amazing care and attention given to our mother during her last days here on earth.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, American Diabetes Association or SPCA.
