Lois Jean Blades' Obituary
BLADES, LOIS JEAN born Janaury 31, 1926 in Fairfield, Illinois and passed away Jan. 26, 2013 in Dallas, Texas. Preceded in death by her husband, Ben Blades; father, Lester Banker; mother, Minnie Trotter Banker; brothers, Orneal, Bud, Lester and sister, Virgina Nation. Lois is survived by sister, Robley Merick of Jupiter, Florida; son, Benji Blades and wife, Debra of Carrollton, Texas; daughter, Joni Arhelger and husband, Clayton of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren, Kimberly Askew, Melissa Brester of Allen, Texas, Tate Arhelger of Dallas, Texas, Mason Arhelger of Dallas, Texas; great-grandchildren, Emily, Kate, Olivia Askew, Noah and Maren Brewster. She attended Southern Illinois University where she was a member of Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority, class of 1945. She married her high school sweetheart, Ben Blades and spent the next 44 years as a devoted wife and mother of two. In 1950 they moved to Dennison, Texas and opened a dry cleaning business. After 3 years they moved to Dallas where they called home until today. Services will be held Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at 12:00 PM at Restland Abbey Chapel with visitation 1 hour prior.
