Lois and Gene Rupert's Obituary
RUPERT, E. EUGENE (GENE) 85, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away on April 30, 2008. Eugene was born on August 8, 1922 in Muncy, PA to Earl and Geraldine Rupert. He graduated from Muncy High School, where he lettered in three sports. He graduated from Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA where he played two sports. During World War II, he entered the US Navy, where he served aboard the George A. Johnson and with 97 Seabees as an officer. He retired from Aetna Life & Casualty after 37 years, he served as chairman of the Governing Committee of the Texas Workers Compensation Assigned Risk Pool. Also, he was chairman of the Governing Committee of the Fire Prevention & Engineering Bureau of Texas, served on the National Insurance Committee of the Boy Scouts of America and was a member of the American Insurance Association. After retirement, he was a hospital volunteer for many years as well as volunteering at the North Dallas Shared Ministries. Gene was a 32nd Degree Mason and a Shriner for over 50 years. He is survived by his wife, Lois Ruch Rupert; daughters, Gena Morris and husband, Galen, Jody Cooper and husband, Ben; grandchildren, Julie, Brandon and Robin; great grandchildren, Brandon Jr. and Brandy. RUPERT, LOIS ESTELLE RUCH 84, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away on May 3, 2008. Lois was born on April 21, 1924 in Bethlehem, PA to Dr. and Mrs. Asher Ruch. She graduated from South Whitehall High School and attended Cedar Crest College where she received a degree in Home Economics. On December 15, 1945 she married E. Eugene Rupert. She taught school in Pennsylvania, Louisiana and Texas. She was active in the North Dallas Women’s Club, where she served as President, as well as President of Collectors and Preston Trail Antique Club. She was an avid bowler of some note. Lois was a member of St. Matthias Episcopal Church. Her family and friends will miss her spirit, welcoming smile and her generous heart. She is survived by daughters, Gena Morris and husband, Galen and Jody Cooper and husband Ben; grandchildren, Julie, Brandon and Robin; great grandchildren, Brandon Jr. and Brandy. Visitation will be from 6-8PM, Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at Restland Funeral Home. Services will be held 10:00AM, Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at Restland Memorial Chapel, with Father Dwight Duncan officiating. Interment at Restland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Lois R. Rupert 45 Scholarship Fund at Cedar Crest College, Allentown, Pennsylvania.
