Lois Ruth Hayes' Obituary
Passed away September 11, 2008 on her 86th birthday. Lois was born on September 11, 1922 to Stanley and Kathryn Watts. She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1941. Lois was among the first group of female bank tellers at the Mercantile National Bank and was the first female hot-check teller in Dallas. Lois’ life revolved around her family and friends and she spent many happy hours working on her genealogy. She loved to play games and cards and was known for her wonderful sense of humor. Lois was a life-time member of East Dallas Christian Church, serving as a Sunday school teacher for preschool children and later as a member of the Mary Martha Class and the Sanders Class. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, James N. Hayes; three daughters and their husbands, Carol and Ron McDowell, Sharon and Gordon Swink, and Cindy and Dennis McCarthy and four grandchildren; K.C. Swink, Kathryn Swink, Jimmy McCarthy and Robert McCarthy. Lois will be sorely missed by all who knew her. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM, Sunday, September 14, 2008 at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be 12:30 PM, Monday, September 15, 2008 at Restland Wildwood Chapel. Reverend Deborah Morgan officiating.
