Lois Ann Hill Leonard's Obituary
Lois Ann Hill Leonard, 78, peacefully departed this life on September 24, 2014, surrounded by her family. Lois was a loving and devoted wife to her husband, John (Jack) Leonard, for 58 years. She was beloved by her four children, who greatly benefitted from her wisdom and caring. Lois was a good sister to her two brothers, and a joy to her parents. Lois dearly loved her six grandchildren: Lisa Michelle Leonard, Billy Raymond (Hunter) Rees III, Dean Michael Leonard, John Edward Thomas (Jet) Leonard III, Kyle Walker Leonard, and Ava Ann Leonard, and was very proud of their accomplishments. Lois loved her family above all, and that remained her primary pleasure throughout her life. Lois was born in Denison, Texas, and moved at an early age to Garland where her father worked with Kraft. She attended Garland High School where she had many friends, was proud to be voted FFA Sweetheart, and was honored to be runner-up to Miss Garland. She graduated in 1954. Lois and Jack married upon his graduation from Baylor Dental School in 1956, and they subsequently moved to Oxford, England to fulfill his two-year military obligation with the Air Force. They then returned to Dallas where Jack joined his father’s dental practice and they settled to raise their growing family. For many years, Lois enjoyed the fellowship of her friends and extended family. She was a life member of the Alliance of the Dallas County Dental Society. Lois was a long-time member of Christ the King Catholic Church, and loved God, appreciating His many gifts in her life. She had a positive outlook, always looking for the good in everything. Kind and gracious, Lois very much lived every day with the desire to help other people, and she will be greatly missed by those she leaves behind. Lois is preceded in death by her father, Carl W. Hill, and her mother, Nobie Hill, as well as her brothers, Carl R. (Cotton) and Harold L. Hill. She is survived by her husband, Jack, two daughters, Leah Leonard and Linda Risk, and two sons, Jet Leonard and Tim Leonard. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 am September 27, 2014 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 8017 Preston Rd, Dallas, TX. Immediately following Mass will be a one hour reception with the family in the Parish Center, then procession and burial at Restland Memorial Park on Greenville Avenue for those that wish to attend.
