Lois Irene Plummer's Obituary
PLUMMER, LOIS IRENE was born on March 27, 1936. She was a child of the most high God. On September 27, 2012, the Lord called her home. She accepted Christ at the age of thirteen years old. She had a full life filled with family, friends and people who loved her. She made her home in Marietta, Oklahoma, never meeting a stranger and always willing to help others. Lois married Arnell L. Halstied in 1952 and from that union, they had eight children. She leaves to cherish her memories: Ramona (Donnie) Willis, Ardmore, OK, Barbara Taylor, Dallas, TX, Patsy (Willie) Anderson, Midwest City, OK, Don Halstied, Grand Prairie, TX, Roger (LaShon McLendon) Halstied, Plano, TX, Denice Halstied, Dallas, TX and Rochel (Rodney) Washington, Garland, TX. Her family extended to include eight grand children, 12 great grand children, one great-great grandson, a lifelong friend, Rosemary Payne, Oklahoma City, OK, numerous cousins and friends. In 1978, Lois moved to Dallas, TX. She was an active volunteer, receiving the Doctors Hospital Volunteer Recognition Award in 1999, volunteered for the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program in 2003-04, Foster Grandparent Program in 2004 and numerous training certifications. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and a collector of gorgeous hats that donned her head with every outing. As a member of churches in Oklahoma and Texas, she served in several capacities. At the time of her death, Mount Hebron Missionary Baptist Church, in Garland, TX, was her church home. She worked for Rockwell International in Dallas, TX for several years until she retired. Lois was preceded in death by her mother, Pearl Smallwood, aunt, Jennie House, daughter, Kathleen Inez Halstied and grandson, Ryan DuVal Washington.
