I remember back in 2006 (I think) on Christmas, Mike took me over to Terry & Pam's house, Lonnie and Brenda were there and all of Terry & Pam's kids. Mike & I were only friends at that time, we had met at Church. We were getting ready to leave and Lonnie said to me "Mike is a good man, he will be true to you, he will take care of you, you can trust him because he is a good man and he will treat you right! I was thinking, we are just friends & that is all, I REALLY wanted to say that to Lonnie, but I couldn't bring myself to say that to him. I just smiled at him and thought okay Lonnie, I guess you will figure it out when we don't end up together, because we are just friends!
Well, Mike and I are married and everything that Lonnie said about Mike that day was true! And I guess Lonnie knew something that I didn't because, I wasn't ready for anything other than friendship, but God had other plans! Praise the Lord for that! Thank you Jesus!

What a day that will be when my Jesus I shall see! When I look upon His face, the One who saved me by His grace!!! Some of my fondest memories in the time I knew Brother Lonnie and Sister Brenda were when we attended church together in Tool in the early 90s. I always saw them together, with their son Steven. I was a teenager and secretly longed to have parents like them...They were a God fearing steadfast family. When I got married in 94, they were the only ones who came to my wedding. They supported me and loved me and stood up for me. I never forgot that. I would run into Bro Lonnie on occasion over the last few years at the thrift store or Brookshire's. He ALWAYS had the same loving Christ like smile. What a time he must be having with our Savior Jesus Christ, the one who died for us - Oh, how I look forward to seeing my Lord also.
