Lorenza Watson's Obituary
Lorenza Watson was born on December 11, 1922 in Nacogdoches, Texas to the late Dodd and Mary Watson. Lorenza met Latrell Sanders and were married December 26, 1941 in Nacogdoches. Upon moving to Dallas, Texas, he worked for Van Waters & Rogers Trucking Company as a truck driver until his retirement after 30 years of service. Lorenza also work in catering alongside his wife for 30 years.Lorenza accepted Christ at an early age in life at the Wilson Chapel AME Church. In 1958 he and Latrell joined the Hamilton Park United Methodist Church, under the leadership of Zan Holmes. Lorenza was a devoted member of the Senior Usher Board and Mature Adults Ministry until his health failed and remained a faithful member of the church until his death.Lorenza’s life centered round God and his wife of 62 years. He was the oldest of 10 siblings, eight preceding him in death: James, Nelson, Floyd, Thelma, Katherine, Shirley, and Lois. He leaves to celebrate his life, two sisters, Eva Jean Simmons and Alice Pruitt, sister-in-law who he raised Shirley Dillard, and a host of nieces and nephews.Funeral Arrangements for Lorenza Watson have been faithfully entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Cemetery.
