Lou P. Klenk's Obituary
LOU P. PURNELL, passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2025 at the age of 93. She was born to Fred and Georgia Prothro of Dallas, TX on February 17, 1932.
Lou graduated from Highland Park High School and attended SMU where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi. She left college to become a wife and mother. She enjoyed being involved in her son's school activities, such as, organizing the HP ROTC Ball, fundraising, and Tartan banners for the HP band.
Lou was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Daughters of the Republic of Texas.
After her children left the nest, Lou pursued several professions, including Real Estate, Professional Cook, and opened her own Silver Naja Jewelry that specialized in Navajo pieces.
She was preceeded in death by parents, her husband Locke Purnell, oldest son, Lance Klenk, and middle son, David Klenk.
She is survived by her youngest son, Randal Klenk and his wife, Jerrie, two daughters-in-law, Charlotte and Robyn, two grandsons, a granddaughter, two step grandsons, and a two step great grandsons and a step great granddaughter.
Besides the love she shared with her family, she loved animals. Dogs, cats and even an orphaned skunk.
Graveside service will be held March 25 at 2:00 pm
