Louis Harry Flewharty's Obituary
Louis Harry Flewharty was born December 10, 1931 in Weatherford, Texas and passed away April 14, 2012 in Dallas. He married Gerry A. Rogers on Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 1957. Louis graduated from Texas A & M at Commerce in January of 1953 with B.A. degree in Business Administration. He spent two years in the United States Air Force. He was inducted into the Air Force in San Antonio, Texas and then spent three months in Cheyenne, Wyoming in Officer’s Supply School. He was sent to Adak Island in Fairbanks, AK at Ladd Air Force Base. He worked for J.C. Penney Company from 1955 until 1987. He managed stores in Stephenville, Levelland, Inwood Village in Dallas, and Richardson. Louis was a deacon at Highland Oaks Church of Christ, member of Boles Home Board of Directors since 1991, and Administrator of Forest Dale Apartments. In July of 2010 he returned to work as manager of Forest Dale Apartments. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Pauline Flewharty. Louis is survived by his wife, Gerry Rogers Flewharty of Dallas; daughter, Cheryl Flewharty of Dallas; sister, Janet Flewharty Thornton of Ft. Worth; mother-in-law, Naurville Rogers of Sweetwater; and brother-in-law, Mondel Rogers of Sweetwater. Services will be held at 1:00pm, Tuesday, April 17th at Highland Oaks Church of Christ in Dallas. Graveside services at 1:00pm, on Wednesday April 18th at Sweetwater Cemetery in Sweetwater, TX.
