Louis Lampkin Jr's Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Louis Lampkin Jr who left us on January 19th, 2025, in Crowley, Texas. Born on April 24th, 1940, in Shreveport, Louisiana to parents, Louis Lampkin Sr and Zoleater Lynn. Louis brought joy and laughter to everyone around him.
Louis lived life with humor and a steadfast love for the Dallas Cowboys, always cheering them on with passion. He was a proud Army veteran, and worked for the Fort Worth Transportation Authority, until his retirement. His resilience in the face of life’s challenges, his kindness to everyone he met, and his hardworking nature were an inspiration to us all.
Louis was blessed to have shared 64 beautiful years with his wife, Maxine Blackmon. Also to cherish his memory will be his children: sons Michael Blackmon, Lewis Lampkin III (Helen), Bruce Lampkin (Cheryl), Timothy Lampkin (NewJavia), and Galen Lampkin (Charisma); daughters Sheila Penn (Roger), Felicia Bailey (Roger), and Freda Lampkin (Edwin); as well as 19 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. His twin sister Louise Baker and sisters Ella Mae Orby and Bertha Swift also carry his memory forward.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Lampkin Sr. and Zoleater Lampkin; his cherished daughter Zoleater Lampkin; grandsons Kwame Lampkin and Travis Lampkin; sister Elizabeth McDuffy, and brothers James Lampkin, Emage Lampkin, and Henry Davis.
We will forever cherish the memories of his laughter, his stories, and the love he shared with all of us. Though he’s no longer with us, his spirit lives on in our hearts.
Rest in peace, we love you and will carry you in our hearts always.
