Louis "Trey" Franklin Jordan III's Obituary
SSG Louis “Trey” Franklin Jordan III, 45, of Manhattan, Kansas, passed away at his home on February 19, 2025.
Trey was born in Dallas, TX, on August 7, 1979 to Louis Franklin Jordan Jr. and was later adopted by his grandparents; Louis Franklin Jordan Sr. and Edna Mae Jordan. Trey attended Godwin E. Mills High School in Richmond, VA, where he graduated with Honors before attending Virginia Commonwealth University, then went on to join the US Army.
Trey embodied the spirit of a warrior. For nearly 14 years, he bravely served our country in the Army. He was a steadfast presence on the front lines, receiving honors, medals and commendations, ultimately receiving an honorable discharge and living with a 100% service-related disability--a true testament to the sacrifices he made for our country.
As a veteran, Trey found a new battlefield in faith. He immersed himself in studying the Word of God and becoming a devoted warrior for Christ. Trey’s voice was often filled with the conviction of his beliefs. While we are devastated by his loss, we find comfort in knowing he has been called Home and is now continuing his mission in Heaven. May he rest in eternal peace.
Trey was preceded in death by his father, Louis Franklin Jordan Jr., his grandfather, Louis Franklin Jordan Sr., and his grandmother Edna Mae Jordan.
He is survived by his sister, Denise Rene Recer, brother-in-law, Derek Shane Recer, niece, Peyton Lynn Recer and nephew, Preston Shane Recer.
Graveside funeral services with full military honors will be held on June 14, 2025 at 10:30AM at Restland Funeral Home 13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75243.
