Our last visit with Uncle Dale was when he was passing through San Antonio several years ago. When he was planning the trip, he called and asked if we would mind taking him out to Kelly Air Force Base for a little tour – since that was where he went to flight training in World War II. We could not say No! and the day turned out to be very enjoyable for me and my wife Barbara. We would not have missed it. Uncle Dale seemed to relive some old memories as we drove around Kelly ("Kelly Field" back then). He even recounted a story or two of when he was stationed at Tinian Island. What a gentleman. What a genuinely nice man. I would not trade for that visit. Rest in Peace
