Louise Ann Comstock's Obituary
Louise Kienlen Comstock died peaceably in the company of her daughter and grandchildren on Sunday, November 21. She was born December 4, 1924 in West Newton, Minnesota and spent her formative years on an idyllic Minnesota farm. She received her undergraduate degree and her Masters in Library Science at what is now Minnesota State University, Mankato. On August 14, 1952 she was married to E.E. (Bud) Comstock, who predeceased her on August 3, 1989. She was a long time employee of the Wichita Falls Independent School District and completed her career at Barwise Junior High School as school librarian. While in Wichita Falls, she was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. In 2002 she moved to Treemont Retirement Community in Dallas, Texas, where she passed away. Louise took great delight in close relationships with her cherished friends, and until illness required her move to Dallas, she loved tending her beautiful rose garden. But her greatest pleasure came from individual visits from her grandchildren, whom she spoiled during each and every visit. Louise is survived by her daughter, Ann Louise Comstock Gavin, son-in-law Tim Gavin, and grandchildren Courtney Gavin August, Camille Comstock Gavin, and Alexander Timothy Gavin.
