Louise Ottensman, 74, born October 18, 1936, died on July 21, 2011 after suffering from a stroke in November 2004. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harriet and Harold M. Ottensman, her brother, Harold N. Ottensman, and her sister-in-law, Carolyn Ottensman. Survivors are, her sister, Sandy Almand and her husband James; her nephews, Donald Ottensman, Mike Ottensman, Matt Ottensman, Mark Almand, and Stephen Almand; her niece, Brenda Resseguie; great-nephews, Nicholas Ottensman, Scott, Joshua and Matthew Almand, and Zach Resseguie; great-nieces, Rachel Almand, Brooke, Ashley and Kayla Resseguie; and many friends. Louise worked for Remington Rand for 20 years and Southland Corporation for 25 years. She was very active in the Airedale club and DOTC, and the American Sewing Guild. Louise spent many, many hours sewing quilts, bags, stuffed animals and much more for the children at Parkland hospital. It was her main goal after her retirement in 2003. I want to thank home health and New Century hospice for caring for Louise, especially, Emma Spights and Katie Williams for the care they gave Louise during her illness. Also, to those that came and sat with Louise so James and I could get away for a few hours. Visitation will be held Friday night from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas, TX. Louise didn’t want a sad funeral, so we will have a celebration of her life at Wildwood Baptist Church in Mesquite, TX, Saturday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Graveside services will be held Saturday as well at 11:00 a.m. at Restland Memorial Park. Louise was my sister and very best friend, I will miss her dearly, but we will be together again one day in heaven. Donations may be made to the Dog Museum of America in St. Louis, MO.
