Lovalee Alene Heckman's Obituary
Lovalee Alene Heckman, 92, of Dallas, TX, passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2017. She was born on December 7, 1924, in Anson, Texas, to Byrd and Winnie Presley. She grew up in Weatherford, Texas. Lovalee graduated from Weatherford Business College and went to work at Armour Meat Packaging Company in Fort Worth. She served in the USO during World War II, where she also met her husband, Clarence Heckman, who was serving in the Army Signal Corps. They married in 1946.Lovalee worked as a bookkeeper at Burroughs Adding Machine until they started their family. Lovalee worked in the home while her children were young. She was a Girl Scout leader, treasurer of a garden club, active in the PTA, and President of UMW. She later returned to work at Page Drug store, where she worked in the cosmetics department and also in the pharmacy. Lovalee was an active volunteer with many organizations, including 10 years at the beauty shop in C.C. Young. She enjoyed traveling, reading, playing bridge, and listening to music. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church in Dallas and attended the Double Ring and Aldersgate Sunday School classes. Clarence preceded Lovalee in death in May 2013; they were married over 66 years. Lovalee is survived by her three children, Gail Simpson, Glen (Mary Alice) Heckman, and Randy (Karen) Heckman; her seven grandchildren, Rachel Simpson, Garrett (Samantha) Heckman, Gavin (Melissa) Heckman, Kristen (Micah) Loken, Brian Heckman, Kevin Heckman, and Allison Heckman; and her great grand-daughter, Allison Barnes. The funeral service will be held at 2:30 PM Saturday, April 1, at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas, in the Memorial Chapel. Visitation is immediately prior at 1:30 PM.
