Lovina "Liz" "Sugar" Barham's Obituary
Born May 28, 1937 in Campbell, Texas to Guy and Marie Taylor and passed away October 16, 2014 in Mesquite, Texas. Preceded in death by parents, Guy Leroy and Marie Isabelle VanScyoc Taylor; sister, Mildred Lucille Pitts; and brothers, Floyd Leroy and Delbert Wayne Taylor. Lovina is survived by daughters, Connie Dunlap and husband, Michael, Phillis Holderfield and husband, Timothy, Patricia Barham; son, Joe Thomas and wife, Gloria Barham; sisters, Oleta Wilson and husband, Jerry, Wilma Hudson, and Marjorie Wilson and husband, Lee; brothers, Edwin Guy and wife, Lynn Taylor and Glenn Eugene and wife, Patricia Taylor. Lovina is also survived by nine grandchildren: Charles, Beth, Callie, Robert, Jeanette, Faith, Jackie, Stephanie, and Charles Thomas, and five great-grandchildren: Cadee, John Jr., Mila, Skyy, Jaxon, and one on the way. Lovina had many many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews, whom she treated as her own. Lovina also figuratively adopted others into our family – son Linh Ho and his family, daughter – Mai Bui, and grandson – Ted Omari. Lovina was a wonderful Christian woman who did not get to attend services in her later years as she would have liked, but she loved her God and her church family. Liz’s family will receive friends from 2:00-5:00 pm on Sunday, October 26, 2014 at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral Service for Liz will take place at 2:30 pm on Monday, October 27, 2014 at The Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75238. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your church in Lovina’s name.
