Loy Reine Candler's Obituary
Loy Reine Candler, age 89, passed away peacefully on June 8. 2021. She was born November 26, 1931 in Helena, Oklahoma to Lloyd Clymer and Lurene Chambers. She Married Bobby Tate Candler on April 11, 1953 and they were married for 50 years. Prior to his death in May 2003, She was a wonderful caregiver, devoted years to taking care of Bob through his long illness. She cared for her Mother at home through her last years as well.
Loy is survived by her son Charles Candler, his wife Kathy, and their Daughter Jordan, as well as her daughter Bobbie Candler Buyalos, and her children Erica, Lauren and Bobby Bobby Buyalos. Loy was predeceased by her son, Edward. All of these she deeply loved.
She worked as an oil company administrator, real estate agent, and was co-owner of an appraisal company. She was a dedicated Mother and wife raising three children while working in the family business.
Loy loved her time spent with many friends from the Walnut Hill Church of Christ. For may years, she and Bob played bridge with other couples from the church in what was mostly friendly competition. She found it very rewarding volunteering with the church's prison ministry. sending Bible lessons and correspondence to share the gospel with inmates.
Loy was also a lifetime member of Recovery International, a self help mental health organization. She volunteered with recovery for decades in various leadership positions and led a weekly meeting at Walnut Hill Church of Christ for many years. She was grateful that the church provided a welcoming place for this group.
Loy especially loved her grandkids and cheered them on in lots of different activities including dance recitals, musicals, lacrosse, baseball, cheerleading, soccer and music recitals. Grandma always wanted to be there loving and supporting them all. For each of their birthdays, she always wanted to make them her special chocolate cake.
The generosity of her time to Recovery and to her family is how she will be remembered.
Please join us in Celebrating her life on Saturday June 19, 2021 at 9:30AM at the Walnut Hill Church of Christ 10550 Marsh Lane, Dallas, Texas. This will be followed by a graveside service at Restland Cemetery 13005 Greenville Ave, Dallas, Texas, the Court of Trinity.
