Loyd Lee Stevens' Obituary
Loyd Lee Stevens, 88, of Richardson, Texas, passed away on February 28, 2026 after a period of declining health. He was in the care of Mustang Creek Estates, a residential assisted living facility in Allen, Texas.
He was born on August 15, 1937, in Odessa, Texas, the oldest of six children. He grew up in Odessa and, following high school in 1956, enlisted in the US Marine Corps. After serving four years, he returned to civilian life before reenlisting in 1961 in the US Air Force. A Vietnam War veteran, he completed seventeen additional years of service and retired in 1978 with the rank of Master Sergeant. During his military career, he and his family lived in several locations, including Iceland.
Following his military career, he was recruited by Texas Instruments in 1978, where he served in various roles until his retirement at age 65.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Donnella Jean George Stevens; two children, William Mark Stevens and wife Sonia of Gunter, Texas, and Pamela Stevens Freij and husband Saleh of Plano, Texas; daughter-in-law Rebecca Stevens; ten grandchildren, Christopher, Ashley, Bryan, Elizabeth, Willow, Meghan, Joshua, Adriana, Caleb, and Aidan; and ten great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Cadence, Zechaiah, Vincent, Eirik, Eilley, Killian, Quirina, Declan, and Kithara. His youngest son, Michael Scott Stevens, preceded him in death on February 5, 2026.
Burial services will be held privately for the family, and he will be interred at Restland Memorial Park.
A Visitation and Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 14, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at The Salvation Army Garland Corps, 451 W Avenue D, Garland, Texas.
Flowers may be delivered to that location on Friday or Saturday morning. Prior to that time, flowers may be received at 720 Creek Valley Ct, Allen, Texas.
The family extends their sincere gratitude to the staff of Mustang Creek Estates, Homage Hospice, and his brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Valencia Stevens, for their compassionate care and steadfast support.
He will be remembered with love by his family and all who knew him.
