Lucille McDermott Goode's Obituary
Lucille McDermott Goode, 99 years old, went to be with her Lord and Saviour on December 17, 2021. She was born on December 4, 1922, in Cameron, Texas, and grew up there. Lucille went to Texas Woman's University. While there she met a handsome Aggie named Mark Goode, Jr., on a blind date, and they married eight months later. During World War II she spent time with Mark (and Army officer) when she could, and finished her degree in library science. She was a librarian at University Park Elementary School and Dallas Public Library. When her children were born she devoted herself full time to caring for them. She was active in the PTO at what was then Stonewall Jackson Elementary, as well as her TWU alumnae group, and her church, Northridge Presbyterian.
Lucille is predeceased by her parents, Charles and Lucille McDermott, her sister, Frances McDermott, and son, Mark Goode III. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Mark Goode Jr., son Scott Goode and wife Wanda, daughter-in-law Dianne Goode, grandchildren Mark Goode IV and wife Alex, Dianne Irwin and husband Chris, Hunter Goode, Mac Goode, Meg Goode, Kate Goode, and Charlie and wife Allison Goode. She is also survived by great grandchildren Mark V and Micah Goode, and Wesley and Connor Irwin.
A celebration of her life will be held on Northridge Presbyterian Church - Thursday, December 23, 2021 at 10:30am
