To the Family, my deepest Condolences. For thirty years I've lived next door to Ruby Lee as I've always called her. Over the years we grew to become good neighbors and great friends. I will always remember the many,many conversations we had during our regular late evening yard watering. Ruby Lee was a very special lady and friend. Her absence will be missed but her friendly spirit will be always in my memory. For the family, hold on tight to the memories of your mother and may God's love and peace be with each of you during this time of your loss.
Dear family, Of our Miss Lucy, It is so hard to express the sorrow that Jerry and I feel, to have heard the news of your Mother passing. Jerry and I have so many memories of all the fun we had sitting there at the farm house chatting for hours. How she loved it when Jerry and I would bring down the Blue Gill fish that we had caught from our lake in Michigan. It would always be a planned event to celebrate her birthday in March and have a big fish fry in her honor. The month of March for her birthday would be for the big trip to OK to the casino. In the truck with me driving Miss Lucy. That was always a good laugh just between the two of us. Then of course our once a week trip with Miss lucy and Vonnie (when she could make it) to the bingo hall. She was always so full of life. As I would sit at the farm house or the camper and practice my banjo. If outside you would catch her dancing on the lawn to the beat of bluegrass music. We were so disappointed that we could not make it to Dallas this past winter. Your Mom and I had a lot of things planned to do to get us through the winter months. How surprised she was when Kenneth had set up the video Skype. He called her over to the farm house to see what he had done. What a day. We were able to see and talk to each other using the PC. So many wonderful memories for such a beautiful, wonderful and loving friend that we found in a city so far from home. God Bless all of you children. God bless our Miss Lucy

"OH MY GOD" how I always thought that Ms. Hawkins looked like "Tina Turner"(LOL) What a wonderful woman, a wonderful neighbor, and truly one who loved her community, especially her little street she lived on for more than 30 years. To "Undria", know that the battle is not given to the swift, nor the strong, but to the one who endureth to the end. I know that your mom is "PROUD" of you, and Martinez for the way you guys have handled everything. The bible also says that "No weapon formed against man shall prosper" and you are living testament of that!!! To "Schnita", "LOVE" your brothers, help them, support them. "FAMILY" is important, and you all need each other. Despite all things in life, "REMEMBER" your mom gave you "LIFE" and that's the best gift that she could have ever given you. My prayer is that "GOD" will soften your heart, and give you an ear to listen. I will continue praying for you. Ms. Hawkins was loved, and she will truly be missed on our little street. I'm just glad I got a chance to spend a few hours talking to her not long ago,and seeing her that Friday evening, before she left on Saturday for her "BINGO" trip. "LORD" how she loved playing her some "BINGO" y'all. She came up to the house because she saw the cable man's truck outside, and wanted to make sure that he was not in that house alone with my mom!!! Just like her, I'm telling ya' We didn't need no police to patrol our street. "WE" had her and Mr. King covering it all.(LOL) If you need us, we're only a phone call away.
