Luella Ruth Trotter's Obituary
Luella Ruth Haupt Trotter, daughter of Stella Geren Haupt and Lewis Haupt was born March 23,1935, in Bryan, Texas. She enjoyed a blessed life filled with love and accomplishment. She was the devoted wife of Ide Peebles Trotter and dedicated mother to her three wonderful daughters Ruth Trotter Penick, Arrenia Trotter Pratt, and Catherine Trotter Wilson. She loved and enjoyed her 13 grandchildren.Graduating as Valedictorian of her high school, she finished the University of Texas in only three years. There she was an Orange Jacket and a Zeta. She immediately married IDe and taught high school math while supporting him through graduate school.Always very active in the closest Baptist church, she joined Ide in teaching couples Sunday school classes in Baytown Texas, Stamford Connecticut, Tokyo Japan, and Brussels Belgium, as Exxon moved the family around the world. While in Japan,, she taught a Basic Bible Class for English language learners. Her capabilities were always recognized, and she was selected to serve in many church capacities. Back in Texas she joined First Baptist, Dallas, and served as Chairman of the International Museum of Cultures. Luella also led Girl Scout troops in Texas, Montana, Connecticut, and Belgium.Lu was blessed with an unquenchably cheery spirit and warmly shed joy on everyone around her. She loved and served her family. She will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her, but they are comforted knowing the blessings she now enjoys finally at home in Heaven with her Creator God and Savior.Lu is survived by her loving husband, Ide; and their daughters and their spouses: Ruth Penick and husband, Jim Penick; Reni Pratt and husband, Randall Pratt, Cathy Trotter Wilson and husband Kevin Wilson. “Gramma” is survived by her thirteen grandchildren: Joshua Penick, Reni Penick, Daniel Penick, Sarah Penick, Rebecca Penick, Jason Penick, Dale Hunt and wife Melissa and children, Ryan Pratt, Elizabeth Pratt, Natalie Pratt, Alexandra Pratt, Peter Wilson, and Josabeth Wilson.
