Lulabel Cathey Jones' Obituary
Lu (Cathey) Jones born 11/29/27 in Cash, TX to Norman B. Cathey and Melissa Belle (McCorkle) Cathey and died 5/11/15 at Christian Care Center in Mesquite, TX. The youngest of 8 children she grew up in North Texas and graduated from Business College in Tyler. Employed by Collins Radio and Dallas Transit as a professional secretary until July 1967 when she married Jack F. Jones. After a few years in St. Louis, MO while Jack worked with the Interstate Commerce Commission, they returned to make their home in Dallas. Lu was predeceased by Jack, her parents, and 7 of her siblings. She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Kathryn Kirk, of Mesquite and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 16th at the Church of Christ at Christian Care Center, 1000 Wiggins Parkway, Mesquite, TX. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75238 at Restland Road. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association or Christian Care Centers Inc.
