Luther H. "Bill" Horton's Obituary
HORTON, L.H. “BILL” age 95, of Dallas, TX passed away on Monday, July 1, 2013 at his home in Dallas, TX. He was born April 3, 1918 in Albertville, Alabama to Jesse and Dollie Lang Horton. Bill was the second of 9 children. He married Janice in Wylie, TX on June 10, 1950. They had 2 children. Bill served his country in WWII in Panama while in the Army from 1940-1945 and was 32nd Degree Mason. He was active in bowling until the age of 90. Bill and his brother, Travis, ran Horton Brothers Trucking Co. Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Horton; daughter, Linda Atchley; sisters, Vivian Long, Juanita Rosson, Zema Turner, Colleen Horton and Emma Horton and his brother, Travis Horton. He is survived by his son, Mike and wife, Kerri Horton; son-in-law Ted Atchley; grandchildren, Jana McAnally, Jessica Atchley and Justin Atchley, Karlee Greer, Erica and Adam Horton; 5 great grandchildren; sister, Loudeen Whatley and husband, Charlie and brother, Wayne Horton and wife, Ernie. Visitation will be from 6:00PM – 8:00PM, Friday, July 5, 2013 at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM, Saturday, July 6, 2013 at Restland Wildwood Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
