Lydia "Lucille" Pricer's Obituary
Obituary for Lydia Lucille Pricer (October 12, 1930 – March 1, 2024)
Lydia Lucille Pricer, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on March 1, 2024, in Waco, Texas. She was born on October 12, 1930, in Hillsboro, Texas, to Louis H and Troy Louise Springer.
In her formative years, Lucille’s family moved across Texas due to her father’s work on the Standard Oil Pipeline. They lived in Conroe, Tomball, and eventually returned to Hillsboro. Lucille cherished her childhood memories of playing outdoors with her siblings, using a rubber doll’s head as a baseball.
At the age of 16, Lucille graduated from Hillsboro High School, which then went up to the 11th grade. Soon after, she married Earnest James Pricer at 17 years old on October 19, 1947. Their enduring love lasted for an impressive 67 years. Lucille and EJ were blessed with two children: James Louis Pricer, born on January 1, 1951; Jeaneta Loy Pricer, born on December 30, 1953.
Lucille's professional journey led her through various roles, including working at Texas Instruments and later at Business Computer Systems and Policy Management Systems. As the office manager and receptionist, she left a lasting impact on those around her.
Outside of work, Lucille enjoyed traveling with a retirement group from Shiloh Terrace Baptist Church. She actively participated in church activities, teaching, study groups, and Sunday School. Her famous fried chicken was a delight to everyone fortunate enough to taste it.
Lucille was a woman of many talents: an accomplished pianist, a superb seamstress, and a lover of plants and flowers. She raised Pekingese and Basset Hounds, sharing her home with these loyal companions.
Sports held a special place in her heart, especially golf. She cheered for the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers, but the golf course was where she found solace.
As a mother, Lucille was unwaveringly loving, a patient listener, and her children’s greatest advocate. She sacrificed selflessly for her family, friends, and anyone in need. Her caregiving spirit touched countless lives.
Lucille Pricer will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love. May her memory live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Rest in peace, dear Lucille.
She is survived by her son James Pricer and his wife, Beki; daughter Jeaneta Pricer. She will also be lovingly remembered by her grandson, Brandon Pricer; granddaughter, Cassandra Page and her partner Matt Vasquez; grandson, Reuben Fine and his wife Amanda; and granddaughter, Delaney Pricer; great grandson, Austin Pricer and great granddaughter, Sophie Pricer; and many nieces and nephews.
