Lydia Dorothea Storck's Obituary
Lydia Dorothea Sophia Wilhelmina Frederica Bruns Storck aka “Micky” passed away at the age of 93 at her home in Dallas, Texas on August 19, 2009. Named for all her grandparents, Micky was born March 21, 1916 in Defiance, Ohio, and lived there until she met her beloved husband N. C. “Doc” Storck in Austin , Texas, at a Luther League Convention in 1937. They were married in 1939, and enjoyed a full life together in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, before his death in 1997. Micky was busy as the wife to “Doc” Storck, Senior Vice President of Wisconsin Electric, and as mother to their daughter, Dr. Patricia Ann Storck. She was God-Grandmother to Dr. Netanya Sandler of the National Institutes of Health. Micky was a supporter of Camp Discovery sponsored by the American Academy of Dermatology, Smile Train, St. Jude Research Hospital, Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, the Plano Rotary Club, and the Dallas Museum of Art. Micky was very active as a volunteer, with Friends of the Plano Public Library and Plano Sister Cities. She was a Founding Member of the Volunteers for Baylor Regional Medical Center in Plano and the 1st President of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Bombay Society. Micky is survived by her daughter, son-in-law Dr. Christopher A. Parr, and numerous loving fiends. Interment will take place at Cottage Grove Cemetery in Cottage Grove, Wisconsin. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice. Believing that you should “do a good deed every day,” Micky will always be rememered for living her life that way.
