Lydia Bryant (Tippa) Test's Obituary
Test, Lydia Bryat, (Tippa), 93, of Dallas, Texas passed away on July 26, 2013. Tippa was the daughter of Lydia and Henry Bryant. She was raised in San Antonio, Texas and graduated from Saint Mary’s Hall in 1937 and later graduated from Holton Arms College in Washington DC. She had an unwavering faith in God which led her to become involved in many volunteer church activities. She was also involved in various civic activities in San Antonio and Dallas. Her family was the focus of her life and she was the consummate mother and homemaker. In 1963, she moved to Dallas. She became involved in the Dallas County Audubon Society. Belonging to this organization led her to many interests in travel, friendships, and knowledge and appreciation of nature. Tippa had a special sensitivity for those struggling with mental illness and she felt a deep compassion for their suffering. She had a keen interest in helping and treating those challenged in this area. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM in the Wynne chapel of Highland Park Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, July 31, 2013. There will be a private burial before the service. Reverend Rightmyer of Highland Park Presbyterian Church will be officiating. The funeral arrangements are being handled by Restland Funeral Home. Tippa is preceded in death by her sister, Emily Browning; son, William Test; and grandson, Robert Test. Tippa is survived by her sons, Henry Test and Donald Test and his wife, Helen; grandson, Richard Test; nieces, Joan Stratton and Bryant Monnig; and numerous great nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Dallas County Audubon Society, Dallas County Mental Health Services, or charity of your choice. Honorary pallbearers are Guthrie Ford, Rick Eckhardt, and Tom Hopkins.
