Lyman Arthur Jamison's Obituary
JAMISON, LYMAN ARTHUR born .August 24, 1932 in Blackwell, Oklahoma, passed away in Plano, TX on July 22, 2013. Lyman is preceded in death by his sister, Kenna Sue Groebe. He is survived by his wife, Doris Jamison of Addison, TX; daughter, Renane Jamison of Dallas, TX; son, Cecil Jamison and his wife, Lori and their daughter, Skylar Faith of Plano, TX; niece, Michelle Groebe Prengler. The Jamison family were prominent farmers in Blackwell Oklahoma, Kay County. They lived on a farm and his grandfather homesteaded at the opening of the Cherokee Strip in 1893. His early life was spent on the farm. He entered Kemper Military School, Boonsville, Missouri in 1946. He completed high school and Jr. College at the Academy in 1952. He was a member of the Military Honor Society, Athletic Honor Society and the love of tennis earned him many honors. He graduated as a First Lieutenant in the senior division. After college, Mr. Jamison joined the United States Marine Corp and was stationed at Camp Pendleton, California. In 1956 he was married to Doris McNair of Blackwell, Oklahoma. They lived on the family farm. Mr. Jamison began his career in the hospitality business opening new hotel properties. He later co-owned a swimming pool business with his son, Cecil. Visitation will be held at Restland Funeral Home, Wednesday, July 24, 2013 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2013, 10:00 AM at Restland Wildwood Chapel with interment to follow at Restland Memorial Park.
