Lynda Lemons' Obituary
Lynda Cheek Lemons, age 76, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 31, 2022, in Corinth, Texas, surrounded by her daughter, daughter’s fiancé, granddaughter, and niece. She was born to William Pinkston Cheek and Eliza Mary Ponthier on August 26, 1946, in Bunkie, Louisiana.
Her cancer diagnosis fueled a desire to live her remaining months visiting family and friends and embracing each day to the fullest. Lynda’s favorite hobbies were bingo, gambling, and making jewelry. Precisely in that order. She looked forward to visiting with her bingo family and called ahead so they would save her a seat. WinStar was her second home when she wasn’t spending time with her Betcha Bingo family. She enjoyed watching scary movies only if someone was present. And how about those glasses? Enough said.
Lynda was preceded in death by William and Eliza Cheek (parents), Richard Lemons (husband), Tobye Lemons (stepson), William Cheek (brother), Lee Baker (sister), Fran Gualtiere (sister) and Huey Cheek (brother).
She is survived by Amber Mayes (daughter) and Tom Harradine (fiancé), Robye Lemons (stepson), Kendall Mayes (granddaughter), Kaden Mayes (grandson), Andrew and Nicholas Lemons (step-grandsons), Ethel Charrier (sister), LJ Cheek (brother) and VernaMae Cheek (sister-in-law), William Baker (brother-in-law) and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, loving work family, and loving friends.
Visitation for Lynda will be held from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Friday, November 4, 202 at First Lewisville Methodist Church located at 907 W. Main Street, Lewisville, Texas 75067. Funeral service will follow beginning at 6:00 PM.
