Lynette Bush's Obituary
BUSH, MARGIE LYNETTE (83) went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, June 6, 2019 in Plano, TX.She was born September 25, 1935 in Houston, Texas. Lynette was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was dedicated to her family and loved teaching her grandchildren games and cooking special holiday meals with them. Lynette was preceded in death by her husband Jerry; her son, Kevin Bush; father, Joseph Wheeler Smith; mother, Lennie Velma Smith; brother, Billy Joe Smith; and sister, Jenilou Balthazar.She is survived by her daughter, Jeri Bush; son Steve Bush and his husband Jim Bush; grandchildren, Devon Bush and Calli Bush; sister-in-law, Carmen Arnold; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Cherrie and Leonard Land; sister-in-law, Pam Bush; many nieces and nephews, and numerous loving family and friends.Jerry and Lynette met at Hundley Boat Company in Lake Dallas, Texas while both were at North Texas State College. They married in Kermit, Texas in 1955. They started their married life in Denton but moved to Dallas soon after. Jerry’s job took him and the family to various cities around Texas, which allowed lifelong friendships to be born. The family’s last move was to Plano in 1975, where the family has been based ever since. In 1999 Lynette and Jerry’s lives were forever changed with the joy that their grandchildren brought to their lives.Lynette never met a stranger. She loved her career in the title and real estate business, working for many title and real estate companies over her 45+ years in the industry. She also taught high school business classes when the family lived outside of the Dallas area. Jerry and Lynette joined Grace Community Church, now LifePoint Church, in its formative years and developed many lasting friendships. Lynette loved to travel with Jerry and their friends, travelling the world, from Israel, Australia, New Zealand, Asia, and throughout Europe. They toured the four corners of the US, including several trips to Alaska to visit friends. Most afternoons over the last 5.5 years, Lynette spent her time with her friends at the Plano Senior Center playing cards. She also looked forward to her evening Bingo sessions a few times a month, even when she didn’t win. Lynette enjoyed her free time in Las Vegas, Winstar and Choctaw with her close friends.Visitation will be from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at Restland Funeral Home and Cemetery, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, June 13, 2019 at Restland Memorial Chapel.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sam Johnson Recreation Center for Adults in Plano TX, the Grateful Americans Charity (GratefulAmericansCharity.org), or the charity of your choice. Lynette will be greatly missed. The family appreciates the love and support given to them.
