Mr Lynn Byron Heitman's Obituary
HEITMAN, LYNN B., of Parker, TX joined the Lord May 24, 2008. Lynn was born on November 19, 1945 in Dallas to Marshall and Edna Earl Heitman. He graduated Cedar Hill High School in 1964 and attended UTA where he received a BS degree in Electrical Engineering in 1969. He was a member of engineering honor societies Eta Kappa Nu and Tau Beta Pi. Lynn was an electronics design engineer with TI’s GSI division. During that time, he was named co-inventor of several patents and sat on TI’s patent committee. His drive for excellence took him to SMU where he completed his Masters. In 1973, Lynn was promoted to Manager of TI’s Marine Engineering Group. After leaving TI, he presided over several more electronics companies. When he grew tired of traveling, he started his own business, Heitman Labs, specializing in innovative solutions to solve everyday problems. Also, he was President of a second company Automated Ceiling Registers, LLC. In 1998, Dallas Business Journal named Lynn ‘Mr. Inventor’. His inventions are distributed throughout the world today. He was active in Spring Valley United Methodist Church and the Boy Scouts of America. A loving father, husband, grandfather and friend to many, Lynn is preceded in death by his father Marshall Heitman. He is survived by his wife of 38 years Debby, his children Aaron, Shannon and Ryan, son-in-law Jason Gorden, daughter-in-law Jami, grandchildren Garrett and Gracie, mother Edna Earl, brothers Darvin and Ron, as well as numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends. Lynn’s greatest gift was his sincere love, interest and concern for other people. Visitation Thursday 5:00-7:00 pm at Restland. Memorial service will be Friday, May 30 at 10:30 am at Spring Valley UMC located at 7700 Spring Valley Rd, Dallas, TX 75254, with a reception immediately following. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spring Valley UMC.
