Lynn Dewitt Swindall's Obituary
SWINDALL, DEWITT LYNN born August 23, 1955 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma has passed away December 27, 2012 in Dallas, Texas from complications of Sickle Cell. Lynn was born to the union of Robert L. Swindall and Novella Kirkland. He was the seventh sibling out of nine. Preceded in death by father, Robert Lee Swindall; brother, Mark Adams; aunt, Rosetta Swindall – Edwards. He attended Classen High School of Oklahoma City where he received his Diploma. He relocated to Denver, Colorado where he completed a machinist program through the State of Colorado and became a Machinist Inspector for Rockwell International, Rocky Flats Plant, Boulder, CO. for 16 years. Lynn was united in holy matrimony to Patricia Gentry on June 27, 1981 in Denver, CO and to this union one daughter was born, Lynnette Swindall on February 9, 1982. Lynn and Patricia divorced in 1996 but remained very dear friends throughout the years. He later moved to Oklahoma City where he united with the Church of the Living God Temple 355. Lynn was an elder in the church and part of the “I Need You To Survive” Praise Team as a mentor. He later moved to Dallas to be close to his two grandsons whom he dearly loved and cherished. Those who knew and loved Lynn, knew him as loving, kind, generous and humorous person who loved to have fun and celebrate life. Lynn is survived by mother, Novella Kirkland; daughter, Lynnette Swindall-White and husband, Dulani (Tahri); grandsons, Imari & Marshaun White; sisters & brothers, Minnie Talton, Zenzal Carr, Loretta Brown (George), Ida Bryant (Oscar), Curtis Adams, Charles Swindall, Perry Williams. A host of nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews , cousins and friends. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, January 2, 2012 at Restland Funeral Home. Services will be held Thursday, January 3, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church.
