M. Norwood Cheairs' Obituary
Cheairs, M. Norwood ~ was born September 1, 1928, in Norphlet, Arkansas, and died July 31, 2012, in Dallas, Texas. Norwood is preceded in death by his loving wife, Nita, of 57 years and his parents, Milton and Viola Cheairs. He became a Registered Patent Attorney in 1963 and enjoyed a very successful 45-year career. He was devoted to his work as Counsel at Monsanto, as Vice President of Cosden Technology, Inc., as Assistant General Counsel and Chief Patent Counsel of Fina Oil and Chemical Company (which became Total Petrochemical, Inc.), and as Of Counsel at Hitt Gaines P.C. He will be remembered by those he worked with as a caring and gentle man. Norwood mentored many as they began their careers, giving generously of his wisdom and experience. He will be missed and fondly remembered by the many he influenced over the years. Special appreciation is given to Flora and Jose Zarate for their love and care of Nita and Norwood for the past 12 years, and especially to his caregiver, Anna Fouse. A memorial service is scheduled for 10:00 A.M., August 21, 2012, in the Wildwood Chapel at Restland, 13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75243. Following the memorial service, burial will be at Grand Prairie Memorial Gardens, 3001 South Beltline Road, Grand Prairie, TX 75052. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the local SPCA.
