M. Dale Evans' Obituary
M. Dale Evans was born on November 7, 1920 in Teague, TX and passed away on January 5, 2015 in Dallas, TX. He is preceded in death by his mother, Eva Evans-Prestridge; father, Vernon Taylor Evans, and brother, Vernon Evans, Jr. After graduating high school in Winona, TX, Dale attended University of Texas in Austin and graduated with his BS. He volunteered to serve his country in WWII in the Army Air Corps, spending most of his time in England. Upon returning home, he found employment with Delta Airlines and later retired in 1976 after 29 years. He met Martha at Delta and quickly developed a lasting relationship. They married in 1967, and Gaines was born in 1968. Dale enjoyed early retirement and kept himself busy with his ’49 Packard, his love of classical music – especially Mozart, playing his piano, bicycling, arts and crafts, and close contact with friends and family. Dale is survived by his wife, Martha Evans; son, Gaines Evans, daughter-in-law, Patricia Evans and sister, Joy Jeane. The visitation for Dale Evans will be at The Abbey Mausoleum at Restland on Friday, January 9th, 2015 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM followed by a short memorial service officiated by Dr. Jack Martin. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243.
