Mae G Ritter's Obituary
RITTER, MAE GROOVER passed away in her home in the presence of family on Sept. 6, 2011 in Dallas, TX. Born May 1, 1921 in Troy, AL, Mae was raised in Alabama, Tennessee, and south Florida by her parents Julian Allen and Ena Mae Groover. She married Thomas Frederick Ritter in 1946. As wife and mother, Mae raised a family of 4 in 3 different states and 2 foreign countries. Mae loved to bake desserts and cookies, a pastime she enjoyed even in the last month of her life. Mae is preceded in death by her husband, mother, father, and brothers Julian, Emmett, and John Groover. She is survived by her sister Lavinia Parker of Pahokee, FL; daughters, Lydia Kincade of Coppell TX, Jane Boden of Riegelsville, PA, Dr. Ann Ritter of Richmond, VA; son, Paul Ritter of Dallas TX; 8 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren . Visitation will be from 5-7pm on Sun., Sept. 11, 2011 at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be 1:30pm Mon., Sept. 12, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Richardson with interment following at Restland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family request you make donations to the charity of your choice.
